Initial Assessment
To begin your performance physio process, your first session is a thorough assessment of your injury and activity. We will also perform treatment then create treatment goals and formulate a plan according to your needs.
treatment
We conduct one-on-one treatment sessions consisting of manual therapy (both mobilization and manipulation); soft tissue release, massage, or active release; IMS and acupuncture as needed, and an exercise program. Physica does not use modalities, machines, or assistants during your performance physio process. Your entire session is spent with the physiotherapist.
Progressive rehab
As part of your performance physio process, we work to provide you with a progressive exercise programme, ensuring continued care. Our ultimate goal is to help you feel better in minimal sessions. In our experience, the average case requires 6-8 sessions, depending on the situation. By providing you with the ability to improve your strength, increase your flexibility and mobility, and developing techniques to move better, the incidence of injury will decrease.
Multi-disciplinary approach
Physica Health works closely with doctors, sports specialists, and surgeons to ensure all parties know and understand your prognosis and recovery process. If there are other health professionals with whom you work, we're happy to liaise with them too.
direct billing details
Physica Health offers direct billing to all major insurances. Please bring your extended health card with you and we will check your benefits during your initial session.
We also accept ICBC claims. If you have a car accident, you are pre-approved for 25 sessions at no cost to you. All we need is a claim number, adjuster’s name and phone number.
